RECALIBRATING TURNTABLE SPEED FOR 50-Hz CURRENT

AC-300, JANUARY 1976 AND LATER

After the unit is out of the case, remove the heat plate across the bottom of the chassis, and stand the unit on its rear panel with the speed control knob to your left.

With the amplifier unplugged and the platter in place, set the sped control knob at 45. Loosen the 2 screws on the speed control transport (see sketch #1) Without allowing the motor or the speed control transport to move, move the speed control knob to 37 1/2 on the scale. Retighten the 2 screws, plug in the amp-lifter, and check to make sure that it now strobes properly with the control set at 37 1/2. Make any minor adjustments necessary.

It will be necessary to reset the throw-out, so that with the speed control knob in the OFF position, the drive wheel is held down away from the underside of the platter. To do this:

Set the speed control in the OFF position. Loosen the 2 kep nuts on the throwout plate and move it to the left (see sketch #2) until the motor mount is engaged upon the step of the throwout.. Retighten nuts and check the action, and reassemble.
