INSTALLING REMOTE WIDE RANGE VOLUME CONTROL

HILTON MODELS AC-300A & AC-300B

Remove the amplifier from the case as follows: Slide a screwdriver under the chrome handle cover and snap it off, exposing the two screws that hold the handle in place. Remove these screws. On the opposite side of the unit, locate the two rubber feet. Remove the screws that hold these feet in place.

Make sure the tone arm is locked in it's clip. Lift out the platter, and set it aside. Slide the chassis out of the case, working the back end out first. Place the set upside down, with the controls toward you, on a pillow or foam rubber.

Locate the preamp plug-in boards in the front of the set just in front of the heat sinks. Remove the phono preamp from the right side and replace it with the modified board. Locate point A in the diagram below. BEING CAREFUL NOT TO MELT THE SOLDER CONNECTION UNDER THE BOARD, solder the red wire from the modified board to the resistor lead at point A.

After testing re-assemble the set. Return the replaced board to Hilton. If you encounter any problems don't hesitate to call.
