INSTALLING REMOTE WIDE RANGE VOLUME CONTROL

HILTON MODEL M-75A

Slide a screwdriver under the chrome handle cover and snap it off, exposing the two screws which hold the handle in place. Remove these screws. On the opposite side of the unit, locate the two rubber feet. Remove the screws that hold these two feet in place.

Before removing the amplifier from the case take off the platter and set it off to the side. Also, make sure the tone arm is locked in it's clip. The entire unit will now slide out of the carrying case. Be careful that the circuit breaker does not hang up on the case when removing the amplifier. Place the amplifier upside down on some padding with the controls toward you.

Locate the phono preamp plug-in board in the front right hand side of the set. Remove the board and replace it with the modified board. Remove the paper backing from the bottom of the tape on the small board. Place the small board, with adjustments up, inside the right chassis panel. The front edge of the small board should be approx. 1 3/4 in. from the front panel. Press it firmly into place.

Locate the power amplifier board on the right hand side behind the preamp. Route the red wire from the small board, with the other wires, to the plug towards the rear of the power amp board. Solder it to the plug terminal nearest to the front of the set that already has a red wire attached.

After testing re-assemble the set. Return the replaced board to Hilton. If you encounter any problems don't hesitate to call.
